Welcome to our first online newsletter. We hope you all had a very wonderful half term break and enjoyed spending time making memories with your family.
Sharing photos
Talking of making memories, did you know you can share any pictures you take during trips holidays and fun days out through the babysdays system? We would love to see what you have been up to and to use this as a discussion topic with the children. The great advantages to using the babydays system is that it is free for you. No need to spend money printing of pictures, its secure only myself and assistants can see it, and it is a way for you to backup those important photos online again completely FREE. Also by doing this you will be helping with your child's early years education. Here are just a few areas of learning you will be contributing to.
Understanding the World (UTW)
Enjoys pictures and stories about themselves, their families and other people.
Has a sense of immediate family and relation
Remembers and talks about significant events in their own experience
Recognizes and describes special time or events for family and friends
Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
Demonstrates friendly behaviour, initiating conversations and forming good relationships with peers and familiar adults.
Confident to talk to other children when playing, and will communicate freely about own home and community.
Communication and Language (CL)
There are so many in here I couldn't possible share them all
Holiday Club
We had a quite but exciting holiday club during Whit half term. The children enjoyed lots of fun outside exploring the local woodland, we made dens out of long sticks, hunted for bugs, discussed the different plants and wildflowers and even had a picnic. We had lots of fun at home too. The children enjoyed a variety of board games, baking and fun in the garden.
Our next holiday club is Summer Fun we already have some bookings already so please book soon to secure your child's place.
Illness and Infection
Please may I remind you that I have a duty of care to all the children we look after. Therefore children must not attend if they have an infectious illness or and symptoms of infectious illness, even if they seem well.
Like all childminders, Nursery's, Pre-Schools and Schools we must follow these guidelines by public health.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/522337/Guidance_on_infection_control_in_schools.pdf.
Please note 100% payment is still due if your child can not attend due to illness, if you receive any help with childcare costs you are still able to claim whilst your child is ill as you are still paying full fees.
Holidays and Bank Holidays
Our Holidays
A quick reminder that we will be going on holiday soon, I will send the exact dates to existing parents via email. Unlike some childminders we DO NOT charge when we are not here to look after your child. If you are claiming any help with childcare costs please be aware that you may need to inform them that you are not paying any childcare costs to me during this time.
Your Holidays
Full payment is still due for all your child's contracted days whilst you are on holiday. You are still able to claim for childcare cost for these days as you are still paying fees
Bank holidays
The next bank holiday is Monday 28th August. Unlike the VAST MAJORITY of childminders and nurseries we DO NOT charge is your child doesn't attend on a bank holiday even if it is one of their contracted days. If you need us to open on a bank holiday you will need to pay a closure fee + £7 per hour for siblings. This is a set fee and you can find this in your holiday policy.
Phonics
This month we will be looking at the letters in group 2 of Jolly Phonics these are ck-e-h-r-m-d
You can watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebaKV_s9VRA
Policies
Following the recent devastating events in Manchester and London we are updating our terrorism policy and after receiving advise and training we have put a lock-down procedure in place. Also due to a serious case review we have also updated our 'failure to arrive' policy.
You may few these on babysdays.
Sun Protection
We are approaching summer and praying for lots of sun. Please could you ensure your has a sunhat clearly labeled with their name, sun glasses and swimwear, including a t-shirt for boys. We will be doing lots of water play in the garden on sunny days.
We will provide sun cream for children during sunny days. If your child has sensitive skin please let us know and supply your own sun cream clearly labelled with your child's name.
Allergies, intolerance's and food preferences.
It is important for you to let us know of any allergies or intolerance's your child has. This includes allergies to foods, creams, washing liquids, soaps and shampoos and anything else you can think of. If you any preferences to foods you wish your child not to eat please let us know. Children are given water or cows milk to drink unless you request otherwise.
WANT £100 CASH??
Yes you did read that right. We are giving away £100 CASH. We have full day spaces available from September, all you have to do is recommend us to a friend, and if they enroll their child with us (for two or more days a week) and that child stays past their trial period we will give you £100 in CASH. To be clear this is gift for you to spend on whatever you like and not money off your next bill.
Thank you for your continued support Carolyn, Jenny and Adrian
