5 Little Monkey's

This weeks theme at Little Explorers Childminding is Jungle Fever. We will be learning a new nursery rhyme during circle called 5 little monkeys swinging in a tree.

We start of with the adult as the crocodile, they then choose a child to 'gobble up for tea' this child then takes the role of the crocodile until there are no children left.

What they are learning: Links to the EYFS

Expressive Arts and Design

Imitating and improvising actions they have observed. (Swinging arms like a monkey, snapping like a crocodile)

Beginning to move to music, listen to or join in rhymes or songs.

Joining in with singing favourite songs

sings a few familiar songs

Builds a repertoire of songs and dances

Mathematics

Develops in awareness of number names through their enjoyment of action rhymes and songs with relate to their experience of numbers

Beginning to represent numbers using fingers (we will be represent the number of crocodiles with our fingers)

Recognising numbers 1 to 5 (we will be using our number cards during this song)

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Begins to accept the need to to take turns (as they take turns at being the crocodile)
